Questions
The things people ask on the first call
If your question is not here, ask it on the form. There is no charge for asking.
Can you take over from my current accountant?
Yes, and we handle the whole handover. We write to them, request your records, and check nothing is missing before we start. You do not need to have an awkward conversation.
I am two years behind. Is that a problem?
It is common and it is fixable. We quote the catch-up work as a one-off amount so you know the total before we begin, then put you on a normal monthly fee afterwards.
Do you charge for phone calls?
No. Quick questions are included in the monthly fee. We would rather you asked us before doing something than after.
What software do I need?
Whatever you already use is usually fine. If you are still on paper or a spreadsheet, we will set you up with something simple and show you how to use it.
Will you tell me if I am paying too much tax?
Yes — that is most of the value. We review this once a year with you and explain the options in plain words, including the ones that will not suit you.
Is the first meeting really free?
Yes. It takes about forty-five minutes, in our office or by video call. You will get useful answers whether or not you become a client.
